PPG COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project brings color to Wuhu School for the Blind
PPG recently announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project that renovated the dormitory and school corridor of the Wuhu School for the Blind in Anhui province, China. The project, part of PPG’s global community engagement efforts, involved local government officials, the media and nearly 120 volunteers from PPG’s Wuhu plant and its customer Chery. This marks the first Colorful Communities project that PPG has held jointly with a customer in the Asia Pacific region.

PPG names Bruno director of investor relations
PPG today announced that John Bruno, currently chief financial officer, Asia Pacific, will become director, investor relations, effective July 1, 2017. Bruno will report to PPG senior vice president and chief financial officer, Vince Morales, and will be based in Pittsburgh.

PPG marks completion of 45 million euros paint and coatings facility in Lipetsk, Russia
PPG today marked the opening of a 45 million euros (US$49 million) paint and coatings manufacturing facility and commercial operation in the Lipetsk region of Russia. The site will provide about 200 total positions and produce about 25 million liters (6.6 million gallons) of coatings at full capacity.

PPG completes COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project at primary school in Deurne, Belgium
PPG today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project in Deurne, Belgium, that brightened a new playground at the local primary school, De Bever (The Beaver). The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world, such as in Deurne, where PPG has a protective and marine coatings plant.

PPG completes COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project at Food Bank of Puerto Rico, donates $10,000 for community programs
As part of its global community engagement efforts, PPG has announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project at the Banco de Alimentos de Puerto Rico (Food Bank of Puerto Rico). The project involved more than 190 gallons of GLIDDEN® and PPG PAINTS™ products as well as approximately 35 PPG employees who volunteered to help restore and beautify the nonprofit organization’s facility.

Bergström appointed vice president, architectural coatings, Latin America, and president, PPG Comex; Achar to retire
PPG today announced that Henrik Bergström, chief commercial officer of PPG Comex, will become vice president, architectural coatings, Latin America, and president of PPG Comex effective July 1. Marcos Achar Levy, current vice president, architectural coatings, Latin America, and chief executive officer of PPG Comex, will retire effective the same day.

PPG today announced that it has completed the sale of its Mexico-based Plaka plasterboard and cement-board business to Knauf International GmbH. Financial terms were not disclosed.
