PPG acquires minority stake in Taiwan Chlorine Industries
PPG today announced that it has acquired a 40 percent ownership interest in Taiwan Chlorine Industries Ltd. (TCI) from China Petrochemical Development Corporation (CPDC).

PPG acquires remaining interest in IVC joint venture in Asia
PPG today announced that it has purchased the remaining 50 percent ownership interest in its Asian joint venture comprising IVC (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and IVC-OPS (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. from its joint-venture partner, Omni-Plus System Pte. Ltd. Financial terms were not disclosed.

PPG reiterates invitation to AkzoNobel to discuss combination of the two companies
PPG today reiterated its invitation to AkzoNobel (AKZA.AS: AKZOY) to enter into discussions to explore PPG’s proposal to form a combined company. This follows the previous announcements on March 9, 2017, and March 22, 2017. PPG continues to believe that a combination of the two companies has a strong strategic rationale and presents a highly compelling and unique opportunity for both AkzoNobel and PPG and their respective stakeholders.

The PPG Foundation recently donated a total of $71,500 to support two national science-education initiatives. The grants highlight PPG’s commitment to increasing educational opportunities for young people in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math.

PPG marks completion of $3 million expansion at Oak Creek, Wisconsin, plant
PPG today opened a nearly $3 million expansion for packaging coatings manufacturing at its Oak Creek, Wisconsin, plant. The 3,300-square-foot facility adds capacity for the production of food-can coatings to meet growing customer demand.

PPG Foundation donates $10,000 to Kentucky Science Center
The PPG Foundation recently donated $10,000 to the Kentucky Science Center to support school visits by the organization’s “Ion Jones and the Lost Castle of Chemistry” traveling science education program. The donation was made on behalf of PPG’s architectural coatings plant and distribution center in Louisville.

PPG announces automotive and industrial coatings price increases in Europe
PPG today announced that it will implement customer-specific price increases and surcharges in Europe to offset a significant rise in raw material costs. The price changes will impact a select group of automotive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and industrial coatings products, effective May 1 or as contracts permit.
