PPG appoints Kappas as vice president, environment, health and safety
PPG Industries announced today that Diane Kappas is appointed vice president, environment, health and safety (EHS), effective Oct. 1, reporting to Michael H. McGarry, senior vice president, Commodity Chemicals. Kappas will succeed John Richter, who has been named vice president, operations, coatings, Asia/Pacific, at PPG’s China headquarters in Shanghai.

PPG to present at KeyBanc Capital Markets basic materials conference
PPG Industries’ Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer David B. Navikas will present at the KeyBanc Capital Markets Basic Materials and Packaging Conference in Boston on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 12:05 p.m. ET.
Navikas will discuss PPG’s business and financial performance.

PPG donates $5,000 to Dover Library Foundation for new public library building
The PPG Industries Foundation has donated $5,000 to the Dover Library Foundation on behalf of PPG Industries’ architectural coatings manufacturing facility in Cheswold to support the new Dover Public Library facility construction campaign.

PPG Industries, PPG Industries Foundation, and the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium announced today that they have renewed their partnership, which was initiated in 2001 and scheduled to expire in 2012.

PPG donates ACCU-TAB systems to municipal pools in Ohio, West Virginia
PPG Industries announced that it has donated ACCU-TAB(R) tablet chlorination systems for municipal pools in nine Ohio Valley communities surrounding the company’s Natrium, W.Va., facility to offer community residents a healthy swimming experience this summer.

PPG to acquire Colombian coatings company Colpisa
PPG Industries announced today that it and its subsidiary, PPG Colombia, have entered into an agreement to purchase the coatings businesses of Colpisa Colombiana de Pinturas, a privately-owned Colombian coatings company, and its affiliates, including Colpisa Ecuador.
