PPG announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project in Bearwood, Birmingham, United Kingdom, that helped revitalize St. Gregory’s Catholic Primary School. The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world, such as in Birmingham, where PPG has a headquarters facility for its UK Automotive OEM Coatings, Industrial Coatings and Brown Brothers Distribution.

PPG, the Official Paint of the National Hockey League (NHL®), today announced it is offering industrial coatings that may be used on NHL goal posts. Based on the company’s proprietary powder coating technology, PPG ENVIROCRON® Extreme Protection provides outstanding cold chip resistance for the most challenging automotive underbody end-uses. Now, the same technology can be used to protect hockey goals of the NHL.

PPG’s Houston paint and coatings plant to educate students at Gulf Coast Advanced Manufacturing Conference on National Manufacturing Day
PPG will host a booth at the Gulf Coast Advanced Manufacturing Conference on Oct. 6 to mark National Manufacturing Day, with the goal to educate students on its Houston plant’s manufacturing process, products and career opportunities. State and national industry leaders also will present industry trends and their impact on workforce development during the conference at Houston Community College.

PPG will hold an educational event at its Oakwood facility for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) students at Flowery Branch High School. The Oct. 10 event is part of PPG’s efforts around National Manufacturing Day, an initiative organized by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) that aims to address the skilled labor shortage, connect with future generations of manufacturers and ensure the ongoing success of the manufacturing industry.
