PITTSBURGH, Oct. 28, 2011 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) announced that Jet Inc., a premier provider of advanced on-site wastewater treatment systems, has become a master wholesale distributor for new ACCU-TAB(R) wastewater tablets by PPG.

More than 120 Jet distributors nationwide will carry the next generation of patented aerobic Accu-Tab wastewater tablets. Manufactured with HI-SIL(TM) H-303 silica, a PPG-engineered erosion modifier that replaces aluminum stearate, the tablets provide a steady source of available chlorine to effectively kill bacteria, control algae and destroy organic contaminants.

“Jet has an outstanding, long-term relationship with PPG and is enthusiastic about becoming a master wholesale distributor for Accu-Tab wastewater tablets,” said Ron Swinko, CEO, Jet. “This new, dynamic structure will combine our global wastewater equipment distributor network and PPG’s expertise in water chlorination systems to help improve sanitation efforts worldwide.”

Made and serviced in the U.S. with no foreign materials, Accu-Tab wastewater tablets contain 73 percent nominal available chlorine and have a beveled edge and smaller 2.5-inch diameter to reduce wicking. They are compatible with standard 2 5/8-inch feeders and can be used in on-site aerobic wastewater systems that treat up to 250,000 gallons per day, including those for residential sites, apartment complexes and small commercial sites. The tablets are U.S. Environmental Protection Agency registered and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60.

Mike Hoops, PPG business manager, calcium hypochlorite products, said, “We are proud to partner with Jet to bring the next generation of wastewater tablets to customers. Jet’s extensive distribution channels and strong customer relationships will help ensure the industry has easy access to simple and effective disinfection with minimal maintenance and high reliability.”
