PPG sponsors 2nd TEDA TIME Foreign Language Contest

The 2nd TEDA TIME Foreign Language Contest sponsored by PPG Industries kicked off recently in Tianjin.
 
PPG Industries representatives joined TEDA Labor Union executives to celebrate the opening of the 2nd TEDA TIME Foreign Language Contest sponsored by PPG.
TIANJIN, China, Oct. 10, 2011 – The 2nd TEDA TIME Foreign Language Contest sponsored by PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) kicked off recently in Tianjin. Hosted by TEDA Labor Union, this competition aims to enhance vocational skills as well as innovation and to make foreign language a new driver for the development of both city and enterprise. Covering the English and Japanese languages, the contest is divided into four stages: mass selection, preliminary, semifinal and final. The mass selection stage kicked off Oct. 8.

“Support of and participation in community activities is integral to our corporate culture,” said Cathy Yan, PPG general manager, government affairs and business development, Asia/Pacific. “We believe that this competition will help stimulate TEDA employees' enthusiasm for foreign languages and create a favorable learning environment for them, enhancing cultural exchanges between enterprises and discovering hidden talents at the same time.”
