LAKE CHARLES, La., July 19, 2011 – The PPG Industries Foundation has committed $10,000 on behalf of PPG Industries’ (NYSE: PPG) chemicals manufacturing complex in Lake Charles toward rebuilding Shiver Me Timbers Millennium Park, which was destroyed in an arson in January.

In addition to the corporate financial support, PPG will commit volunteer hours to assist with the construction project. “We are ready to help rebuild the park,” said PPG Lake Charles Plant Manager Jon Manns.

“PPG is committed to supporting the communities where its employees work and live,” Manns said. “PPG Lake Charles was a sponsor when the original park was built, providing nearly 700 volunteers who worked more than 3,000 hours on the project along with financial support. We are pleased that the PPG Industries Foundation is providing financial support for this important community project.”
