LAKE CHARLES, La., Feb. 24, 2011 – Employees at PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) chemicals manufacturing complex in Lake Charles helped to obtain $45,500 in grants through the PPG Industries Foundation for local organizations where they volunteered in 2010. The employee-requested grants were obtained through a foundation program called Grant Incentives for Volunteerism by PPG Employees and Retirees (GIVE), which recognizes employee and retiree volunteer efforts with annual grants of $500 for an ongoing volunteer relationship or $1,000 for serving on an organization's board of directors.

In 2010, PPG Lake Charles employees obtained 69 grants for eligible local organizations where they volunteer. Recipient organizations include local schools and school systems, community athletics groups, Boy Scouts troops, and groups such as:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana
• Calcasieu 4-H Foundation
• Cameron Council on the Aging
• Friends of Southwest Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges & Wetlands
